Gud i alle ting – Aadalen Retraete

This programme introducing Ignatian Spirituality is the first time I’ve led via zoom while everyone else is in the retreat house in Jutland. I’m very well supported by Johannes, Heidi, Peder, Bente, Pia and Benedicta – the home team.

The Powerpoint presentation for this workshop can be downloaded here. God in All Things 2020

The prayer of blessing I used at the end was taken from the end of Margaret Silf’s book Landmarks. It is the final lines of a set of blessings based on the beatitudes.

The lines are

WHERE you are (however unchosen) is the place of blessing

HOW you are’ (however broken) is the place of grace

WHO you are, in your Becoming is your place in the Kingdom

An Expressive Examen Prayer

Before this I invited an expressive form of the Examen (Review of the Day)

Holding both hands open and palms up in front of you…

let one hand hold the gratitude you feel for the experience of the last few days…

feel the sense, the gift, your thankfulness…

let the other hand hold your hopes, your needs, your desires for life ahead…

feel the longings, the hopes…

then bring your hands together as if holding a ball with these gratitudes and hopes in front of you…

praying that the consolations of this time may be a resource for what lies ahead…

then ‘show’ this ball up to the God who holds all things… offering yourself and what lies ahead to God’s service.

Bless all of you who were part of this workshop – I hope we meet face to face at some point in the future.
